Albert Edelfelt and the Nordic summer

The Retretti Art Centre`s lead exhibition in summer 2009, Albert Edelfelt and the Nordic summer, will present the work of Albert Edelfelt,(1854-1905) on of the best´-known artists of Finland`s Golden Age, in a Nordic art context.

The exhibition will throw light on the significance of the close contacts between the leadibg Nordic artists in the end of the 19th , beginning of the 20th centuries, presenting a unique collection of summer theme works by Edelfelt and his contemporaries - Carl Larsson, Anders Zorn, P. S. Kröyer, Marie Kröyer, Michael Ancher, Anna Ancher and Christian Krogh.
